Historically the "Straight Line" combines acting exercises, phrases, vocal techniques, psychological decision points, and a structure model to organize manipulation. It works quite well. $500,000,000 netted in one operation.
Political versions -- copied from the criminal enterprise original -- are popular with Powell Memo organizations and with the Tea Party.
The simpler the lie, the better "Straight Line" works.
Quality of content is surprisingly unimportant. Here's a typical "conservative" outreach Pink Sheet. Instead of their "voted Democrat," I go broader with "supported American democracy." That's the underlying meaning:
1. IFacts don't matter. Abortion and gay marriage were legalized courts with Republican majorities. All that matters is selling the pitch.voted Democratsupported American democracy because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I've decided to marry my German shepherd.2. I
voted Democratsupported American democracy because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.3. I
voted Democratsupported American democracy because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.4. I
voted Democratsupported American democracy because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.5. I
voted Democratsupported American democracy because I am way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves. I am also thankful that we have a 911 service that get (sic) police to your house in order to identify your body after a home invasion.6. I
voted Democratsupported American democracy because I am not concerned about millions of babies being aborted as long as we keep all death row inmates alive and comfy.7. I
voted Democratsupported American democracy because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits, and we should take away the social security of those who paid into it.8. I
voted Democratsupported American democracy because I believe that businesses should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit.9. I
voted Democratsupported American democracy because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.10. I
voted Democratsupported American democracy because I think that it's better to pay billions of dollars for their oil to people who hate us, but not drill our own because it might upset some endangered beetle, gopher, or fish.
"Straight Line" is a Single Point Design. It motivates Sellers and optimizes lying. No need for subtlety.
And they don't pay a dime for the system -- every one of the political versions is a rip off.
"Every sale is the same." And by connecting up, they sell the same lies in lock step.
Here's the original "Straight Line" from the inventor:
-----
Right wing 501(c)(4)'s teach clones of the system in classes all over the country. They're "Eagles" and the Middle Class up through dentists are tagged as "ducks."
If you do vote in elections, go for a sociopath. A Mitt Romney, Christie, McDonnell, or Scott Walker. Worship narcissism.
Abortion, Reagan, and Race: these three "Kings" of political assets are their permanent anchors.
There is also a big weakness: truth really doesn't mean a thing. Not worth a tinker's dxmn. That is not a long-term strength.
