Sister Megan Rice, 84, got help and broke into the Y-12 nuclear weapons facility at Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Supposedly this was a super-high security facility. (They make H bombs.) Greg Boertje-Obed, 58, and Michael Walli, 64, received 62-month terms.
Big threats to civilization, these three. Lock 'em up....
Somehow the government also claimed that $53,000 of damage had been done. Paint and human blood, you know. If they'd used battery acid that would have hit $10,000,000.
All three were convicted of sabotage. Of course nothing was sabotaged. Bombs kept coming off the assembly line. USAO charged for 30 year sentences then recommended five and nine year terms. He went soft.
These people cut their way through chain link fence. Nothing complicated. Nothing expensive. Then they indulged non-violent protest. No weapons, no machinery.
Who the Hell puts an 84-year old nun in prison ???
Obama manned up to go after bin Laden. He did it risky so's to get hands on Big Boy's computers and other info assets. So how's he going to handle a tough problem on the other side ??? What's he going to do to spring Sister Rice?
