HOAXES 101: "Harvard Liberal Professor Tells White Males to Commit Suicide" (Limbaugh & Clones)

This hoax is fresh out of the Limbaugh pie hole. Harvard professor Noel Ignatiev is a demon from Hell. Perfect mate to hoaxes claiming manifestations of Sharia Law in the Midwest.

Thing is, this is a spoof:

-- "White males are cancer on the Earth"

-- “Liberal professor Noel Ignatiev calls for genocide"

-- "The goal of destroying the white race is simply so desirable, it boggles the mind trying to understand how anyone could possibly object to it"

-- "At least a white woman can have sex with a black man and make a brown baby but what can a white male do? He’s good for nothing."

RWNJs are taking it seriously. Here's Oxycontin Boy:
"I look at how easily people are made to follow and made to believe things, and lied to, and act like sheep. There's a professor...a liberal professor named Noel Ignatiev, and he is actually teaching -- and I am not making this up -- he is actually teaching and telling white male students to commit suicide to benefit society. 'The key to solving the social problems of our age it to abolish the white race.'"

-- Rush Limbaugh

As is typical, Limbaugh does non-rational argument. No need to connect with real world facts.

This "White Suicide" hoax works as a point-of-sale impulse item. The shiny wrapper comes off in an instant and the product is consumed. And once it's consumed, the Believer sets himself up to defend his new prejudice.

And it doesn't matter that a Believer here and there wakes up and rejects it.

Structured hoaxes are the most common form for mainstream Republican propaganda. The form works like this goof piece, pretty much like the most successful RWNJ hoaxes out there today:

HOAXES 101: How Structured Hoaxes Define the GOP
The funny part is that "White Suicide" appeared first in a Boston page called "Diversity Chronicle."

The alleged interviewer, "Ivan Fernando," is fictional. As of this morning the RWNJ-VRWC crews are going along like it came off CNN/Fox/Bloomberg with live video.

Republicans have gotten so &^%%^& crazy over the years, so mentally disordered that the very form of a propaganda hoax is sufficient to kill their THINK switch. "And I'm not making this up" from Limbaugh is key to understanding how it snaps in place.

If Limbaugh had made it up himself then he would know its delusional. Can't have that; "delusional" is bad. But since this fantasy comes from an external source -- any external source -- he is happy as the camel-on-Wednesday critter to be a Believer.

One part paranoia. One part suspend-your-disbelief. That's the formula.

Of course it's half crazy.

The Republican world view in 2013 is based on these hoaxes. You betcha, hoaxes can die. And there's no reason this Republican house of cards isn't vulnerable to collapse. What happened to the Whigs can happen to the Republicans, all in a year or two.
